A Trip Down Memory Lane
Our story began in 1976 as The Bagel Peddler, a humble establishment in Somerset, NJ. With a unique recipe and a vision, we set out to wholesale delectable Jersey bagels to local eateries, hotels, and institutions. The response was overwhelming. Before we knew it, our bakery was bustling with activity, sending out bags of fresh bagels every dawn.
The 90s saw us expanding our retail operations, introducing a flat-top grill that soon became the heart of our hot sandwich offerings. It wasn’t long before ‘The Peddler’ became the go-to breakfast spot for Rutgers Students and bagel connoisseurs around town looking for the perfect bagel sandwich to start their day.
Recognizing the potential for growth, entrepreneur Spencer Peller took the reins in 2019, transforming the store on Easton Ave into the first-ever Fast Bagel. The community’s embrace was heartwarming, and Fast Bagel quickly became the #1 spot for bagel lovers in the area.
